OUR PROGRAMS
Educational Encounters & Animal-Assisted Therapy
Second Chance Farms feels strongly in educating and supporting our community.
Partnering with local organizations, we educate about the agriculture industry as well as the importance of animal-human relationships. Through animal-assisted therapy, we're able to "bring the farm to you" and encourage emotional connections. Here are some initiatives we're proud to be a part of:
Oconee County's
3rd Grade Ag Day
In conjunction with the UGA Extension of Oconee County, 3rd graders from across the OC School System learn about our rescued sheep, their role in agriculture, and have the opportunity to ask their own questions.
Career Days
Partnering with local elementary schools, we bring a special guest and talk about what makes working in agriculture and philanthropy such an amazing and rewarding career.
Farm Club Days
Supporting elementary students who participate in Farm Club, we offer the opportunity to hear a rescue's story, learn about caring for them, and other fun agricultural facts.
Let's Work Together!
Send us an inquiry if you're interested in having Second Chance Farms (and/or some of its rescue residents) participate in your next community event or if you are in need of animal-assisted therapy services.
